It'd be one thing if she was the one carrying out the violence and darkness. The way they've written it, she's on the receiving end of it. So for her then to switch roles as she did in S7, it adds this level of....I dunno, exorcising her demons by becoming the enactor that's disturbing (the victim becomes the victimizer).

Presumably she would have been responsible for some level of violence herself, though, in order to have been accepted for so long with such a violent gang to begin with. But I agree, by only showing the victim side of her, they cheapen the character.
