Photo Meme: Weather

Right, so I'm terrible at this sort of stuff, but I have been meaning to post a lot of pictures as of late and haven't actually gotten around to it. So, I've decided to take up the photo meme that [livejournal.com profile] surreallis started as a way to get them out there. I'm doing it out of order and as I find pics that fit.

Today's pair of pictures was taken 6 hours ago at dinner. The boat is a fully functioning galleon replica that sailed from Spain to Cebu. I can't imagine what it must be like to sail that ship, knowing that weather can change so suddenly. What I like about this pair is that it illustrates that point pretty awesomely, since these were taken within split seconds of each other.

Take a photo according to theme and post in your journal. The rules are lax and simple.
- You can use any type of camera you want. From an SLR to a cell phone. Tech isn't important.
- The quantity of photos you take for each theme is up to you. Post one or a hundred. Be kind with LJ cuts and remember that if you're going for artistic, a hundred pics might dilute the effect.
- You don't have to post everyday. Life happens. By the end of the meme you should have 30 posts though, with at least 30 photos that you took yourself.
- You can rearrange the themes to suit your schedule. The order is unimportant.
- Interpretation of the themes is completely up to you. There are no photo cops defining them.

Wow. Those photos are absolutely gorgeous, and I'm SO blown away by the fact that they were taken within seconds of each other.

I'm glad you're doing this meme!! :)

Fractions of a second, actually. But yeah, cool, isn't it?

I love these, and this meme. I was really hoping you'd do it. Great start with the weather pics. I love the vivid lightening bolt. Wow.

Thanks. I really liked the way these turned out. Waiting for the lightning to strike was kind of a pain in the ass. It took me at least 3-4 times to finally get that shot. Totally worth it though.

I have a feeling that these pictures are going to be a collection of "How many places has Kay been in the last 10 years." I'm trying to pick the best ones that I have ever taken, since this is basically an excuse to post pictures that I never got around to in the past.

I can't wait to see all of them. You know how I travel vicariously through you! I still have my Vietnamese ten cents:)

I think I am gonna do this (although my pictures will be infinitely inferior to yours), because the kids did something yesterday too cute not to photograph. All of mine are going to be new though, just because it's a challenge. It will probably also take me months and months!

Awesome photos! And the timing is really mind-boggling, the lighting is so very different.

I'm so glad you're doing the meme! I'm really looking forward to more of your photos.

It's amazing how bright the lightning lit up the sky, no? I was kinda shocked when I looked at the shots. I love the rapid shot feature on my SLR, since it allows me to take such fast pics.

I'm excited for this meme. Pictures are awesome.
