Is it Monday yet?

I really don't care about the Oscars this year. Normally, I'm all about it, but this year, really, I don't care. I just want it to be Monday so that I can get my Chuck and 24 fix. Speaking of which, hi to all the people who are reading this journal for the recaps. *waves* I'm gonna try to stick to one per week at least, but we'll see how that turns out.

For those of you on my f-list who don't really watch 24, sorry in advance that this journal will be 24-heavy until like May. But hey, I've made it so that you can read it too, even if you don't watch. Because yeah, there are CIP devices and mass murdering terrorists and treacherous moles to keep track of and all, but really all you need to know about the show to understand the recaps is this:

Photobucket = Photobucket

Photobucket = Photobucket

Photobucket = Photobucket

Everything else is just a mix of pop culture references and exposition.

*dies*

And here I was just discussing with someone else that when we have out dream house, I will have Hugh Jackman and Kiefer Sutherland as shepherds for my flock of merino sheep and cashmere goats. :D

Well, I was thinking about this as I was writing up the first draft of 7x03, because the faces Larry pulls in this ep? Totally of the "WTF is he making a move on my girl?" quality that reminded me of Cyclops. And then it hit me that it totally works across the board.

Jack is brusque, growly, his entire body is a weapon, he manages to stay alive even after people kill him, and he's known for kicking ass, taking names, and getting shit done.

Larry is totally in love with the redhead, is a no-nonsense, by the books leader, and of the three, he is the whinest member of the love triangle.

Renee is the redhead, she mostly follows the rules, but has been known to bend them and think outside the box, and she's totally digging the bad boy when she knows she'd probably be better off with the safe choice (whom she does love and trust. really.).

It kind of makes me wonder if they intended this or not. Heehee.

I really love the fact that I can't stand Jack in a suit. Oftentimes he starts the season in a suit, but you know... KNOW... that he will be out of the suit by about... episode 3. Because Jack looks strange without a long-sleeved t-shirt, a kevlar vest, and a gun in his hand. Manbag optional.

I concur. It's not a real season of 24 until Kiefer dons the Kevlar. :)

Must also add:

Wolverine is a Canadian. Kiefer is Canadian.
Jean Grey "dies" and becomes badass Phoenix. Renee "dies" and becomes badass.
Now... Cyclops loses Jean Grey (to "death", eventually) and then marries Jean Grey's clone, has a son, and then sends his son in the future who becomes Cable, who comes back to the current timeline and is pretty darn cool... so I really haven't figured out what happens to Larry yet. Maybe he'll get it on with Janis? Or... maybe Chloe's son is really Larry's?

Dude, you stole my Canadian angle.

Long live the badass Canucks!!
