I can't believe I of all people am saying this, but people in the media and Capitol Hill?

Can you please stop talking about Jack Bauer as if he's a real person and the stuff he does is remotely real?

Like, I know in my write-ups, I talk about the character's actions and motivations as though he's real person, but that's because I'm evaluating the validity and plausibility of his actions in the context of selling the story. I'm always aware that this is a fictional character, which, I'm not sure you are. Because you talk about torture and invoke his name in articles that have nothing to do with entertainment and everything to do with real situations.

May I remind you that in the world of 24, a) they've gone through 7 presidents in 14 years; b) there have been multiple attacks in LA including a nuclear bomb going off; c) Jack Bauer has died twice; d) no one eats, sleeps, or goes to the bathroom; and e) most unbelievable of all, there is no traffic in LA or DC? It's fiction and the whole point of the show is the same as any show: to entertain. Jack Bauer is James Bond meets Die Hard.

He.Isn't.Real.

And bringing him into a conversation where we are talking about REAL travesties and the real crisis we have over how to administer justice and defend ourselves without becoming the very thing we are fighting doesn't help your argument. It's insulting and it cheapens the real problems that real people are struggling with.

You might want to focus more on THAT instead bringing in a fictional character and evaluating his methods next time, just sayin'.

Sincerely,
The Management.
