No, really. Brittany was right. Kinda.

I'm now giggling trying to picture Brittany watching this documentary. At least now we know where the comment comes from.

Also, all this Comic Con stuff is making my heart explode with all the awesomeness:

+ Avengers assemble. Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, huh? I can't wait to see where Joss is going to take this and how he's going to direct Robert Downey Jr and Samuel L Jackson.

+ I still have problems wrapping my head around the fact that *Kenneth Branagh* is the director for Marvel's Thor, but hearing what he has to say about it makes me realize that yes, this is real life.

+ The JJ Abrams/Joss Whedon Visionaries panel was really good, especially towards the end where they offered up some really great insights into TV vs movies and how that affects storytelling.

+ I thoroughly enjoyed the Women Who Kick Ass panel, which had Elizabeth Mitchell and Anna Torv sitting next to each other and being cool.

+ The Pacey-con that Joshua Jackson held right outside the convention center, wearing the same t-shirt he wore in S1 of Dawson's Creek and reading out fanfiction that he wrote himself? (Yeah, take a moment to laugh about the fact that Joshua Jackson wrote DC fanfiction. Yes, he did it for Funny or Die, but still. AWESOME.) As if I needed another reason to love this man.

+ The cast interactions on the panels are always really great at Comic Con too. The Chuck panel and the Fringe panel make me really excited too for the fall. (Some S4 spoilers for Chuck in those links, but non-spoilery reaction? Really, guys? The Old Spice guy is going to have a bit part on the Chuck? Hahaha. The other big casting news for Chuck, though, is blowing my mind.) Also, ASTRID. Cannot.wait.

I loved how they couldn't go without mentioning drugs on the Fringe panel. Drugs/Fringe = OTP, y/y? Joshua Jackson using a glass of water and mike to imitate the sound of a bong will never not be funny. And Captain Awesome taking that pot-shot at Adam Baldwin for talking about Firefly ("Fourth season of Chuck and we're still talking about Adam's little shows") was perfect.

The Castle and Glee panels finish today so I'll probably end up adding links to this post, but I am really excited to see what they have to say. Nathan always makes for a great interview, and the Glee cast is too adorable for words, so I'm betting there will be some choice gems up on youtube by tonight.

In conclusion, Comic Con? ILU this much:

Okay I just watched three hours of Chuck and seriously? I literally rushed to the computer to look up the preview for next week's episode. Damn they had me worried. DO NOT DO THAT TO ME AGAIN, SHOW. YOU ARE MY HAPPY SHOW AND I WON'T HAVE YOU TURNING INTO FARSCAPE OR 24. Phew!

After a rather painful, awkward start, I'm happy to report that my show is back in completely unironically speaking AWESOME form by 3x03. Thoughts on Chuck 3x01-3x03 )

As season openers go, despite the missteps, the first two eps do a decent job of setting up a new premise, considering how the season finale razed most of what we knew to the ground. It also hasn't suffered too much from its budget being cut in half, even though I will miss Anna Wu. I'm glad that they've already started to kick off the season arcs though, because 3x03 was the Chuck I know and love. I can't wait to see where they're gonna take this. (Next week- ANGIE HARMON. God, do I love fandom collisions.)

Life just got cancelled.

No I'm not be coy or punny, I mean the fantastic show starring Damian Lewis and Sarah Shahi, which had one of the best male-female cop partnerships on TV since Elliot and Olivia when they were good. Seriously, Crews and Reese were amazing together- platonically or even hinting toward romance, I just loved every second of their awesome awesome relationship. I do not understand why they are replacing good shows like Life with pilots that don't look very interesting and 5 hours of Jay Leno.

Also, they pushed the decision about Chuck until the 19th, but renewed Medium. Epic.fail.NBC. Finding out whether our favorite shows will come back is the only reason to pay attention to the Upfronts. I can't believe I have to wait until 24 is over to find out if Chuck is back. Just for that, I'm going to demand a full season of Chuck. None of this mid-season replacement, 13 episode for the season crap in case the whole Leno thing goes bust (which it will). I want all 22 episodes of Team Bartowski goodness.

Make it happen, NBC. I'll be expecting my Chuck renewal and my 24 DVDs in hand on May 19.

HOLY CRAP.

The only way that would have been more satisfying of finale would be if.....nope it's not coming to me. Well, no, here we go. My only wish would have been if the last line had been, "Guys...I'm freaking out" instead of the line we got. What we got works, but it would be been more "Chuck" and less homage to something else if we got that instead.

But still. More thoughts to come on this later, but DAMN, CHUCK. Well played, Fedak & Schwartz. Well played.

And it's official btw. Season 2 is pure, unadulterated gold. Not a bad episode in the lot.

I've been insanely quiet about last night's eps, all things considered. I think it's because my brain broke. I still need a day before I can post about 24, but for now, let's focus on the happiness that is Chuck. Because I can't even pick what my favorite part is about this episode, guys. EVERYTHING is my favorite part. BEST.EPISODE.EVER. Casey, would you like to help us to rescue my father? )

This ep could have easily served as a series finale, it was THAT good and THAT satisfying. And honestly, it scares me that the writers say that if the show doesn't get return next season, next week's ep will turn into the least satisfying series finales ever. Which means cliffhanger, which means- SIGH. NBC, DO NOT SCREW THIS UP. You did so well by making these promos last season:

I just...Please. Do the right thing and renew this show. Chuck needs to survive and be on my screen every week next season.

Yes I had to throw a Firefly reference in there. I needed to because, man, Monday nights are going to be the death of me. Both my shows had game-changing eps, but given the differences in their genre, the wild rides couldn't be more different.

Chuck vs the First Kill: OH MY GOD, SARAH, ILU. )

And on the other side of the coin, 24: 1:00am-2:00am )
