Author's notes: See notes in Part I. Reminder again though, not dial-up friendly, don't steal, and don't hotlink.

11:00am-12:00pm- Part II )
Author's notes: It's baaaaaaack!

So, it was a little weird to do this, having drafted this months ago so bear with me if the funny is a little rusty because it's been so long. Also, knowing what we know now, it's all a little hurty to revisit early episodes. Still, I'm hoping it isn't too hard to enjoy and that I've still managed to make you laugh a little. For what it's worth, I re-read Parts I-III just to get back into the swing of things, and I think the jokes still stand up, so hopefully this will be okay too. Think of it as therapy for getting over the trauma of the season.

In any case, you guys know the drill. Don't steal, don't hotlink and this is not dial-up friendly. Thanks again to Rachel for helping me out with this, and Shana, sorry I couldn't get this up earlier tonight. Enjoy!

11:00am- 12:00pm- Part I )
People may or may not have already seen this, but I get a kick out of fanmade trailers (like that Thundercats one I posted about in December), so in case you haven't seen it, the Green Lantern starring Captain Tightpants Nathan Fillion:

In related Whedon news, they're making a Buffy movie. Just not with SMG. Or the original cast. Or Joss Whedon. Apparently they want to make it all dark and edgy? Say it with me, kids: EPIC.FAIL.

On the bright side, it's summer so that means So You Think You Can Dance is back, and I get to see the wonderfully bright and awesome Cat Deeley on my screen as well as awesome dancers. Should be fun. :)

ETA- Hey you know what would have been a better idea if they wanted to revamp Buffy and make it darker? Do a Fray movie. Same Slayer powers, waaaay different angst. And they'd have lots of fun with the CGI with Gunther and Urkonn.

Author's notes: See notes in Part I. Reminder again though, not dial-up friendly, don't steal, and don't hotlink. Oh and bonus points if you can name all the movies referenced in Parts I and II.

Author's notes: Yup. It's that time again. You guys know the drill. Don't hotlink, don't steal, and remember that this is the opposite of being dial-up friendly. I've also added links to previous hours below, just in case you missed one. As always, major, major thanks to Rachel for helping me, with this one in particular. Oh and I'm taking a bit of a sabbatical from LJ-land for a bit due to wrist injury, so it'll be a while until I can respond to your comments, but I promise I will get to them eventually. I always love to hear what worked and what didn't for you guys to make it funnier the next time. Enjoy!

Author's Notes: See notes in Part I. Reminder again though, NOT dial-up friendly. AT ALL. Also, DO NOT HOTLINK or you eat up my bandwith and no one gets to laugh. Finally, do not steal. It took me a long time to make these screencaps.

Author's notes: Well, here we go again. As before, please note, this is NOT dial-up friendly. DO NOT HOTLINK. And please do not steal these. It took me a long time to make these screencaps. If you want the blank ones, comment and I'll send them to you. Thanks to Rachel for helping me with the beta and for making me funnier than I really am. Oh and for those of you looking for Hour One, you can read it here.

Author's Notes: This was born from a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] catch22girl about the Triangle that Isn't on S7 24. (Thanks to Rachel too for helping me with the beta.) It's a captioned recap through shipper eyes, basically. Please note, this is NOT dial-up friendly. AT ALL. In the future, it hopefully won't be so bad because I'm only going to recap the scenes that affect the members of the triangle. This first episode is pretty J/R/L heavy, though so I had split it up into 2 parts.

DO NOT HOTLINK. If you eat up my bandwith, photobucket puts an error message and then no one gets to laugh. Also, please do not steal these. It took me a long time to make these screencaps. If you want the blank ones, comment and I'll send them to you. Finally, props has to be given to Two Evil Monks, who made Alias recaps like these back in the day.

And with that out of the way, without further ado:8:00am-9:0am- Part I )

So we've established that I have a thing for mash-ups, remixes, covers, and crossovers, yes? I mean, yes, some things should not be remade (Rocky Horror remake people, I'm looking at you.) But generally speaking, I love it when people decide to put two polar opposites together and they make it work brilliantly, or when someone takes an great classic and adds a new spin to things. When remixes are done correctly, the result can be pretty awesome. So much so that I feel the need to share two of my latest obsessions right now:

1) My latest audio obsession right now is the Vitamin String Quartet. What I love about what they've done is that they've taken a whole range of music and added something fresh to it by making it classical. We've all heard the Hendrix version of the Star Spangled Banner. This is the flip side of the same cleverness, and it reminds me why I like classical music to begin with. If you haven't heard of it yet, you totally need to check it out. Here, have a listen to their covers of Bohemian Rhapsody, Kanye West's Gold Digger, and Linkin Parks' Numb.

2) Lately I've been finding some pretty awesome posters that either retro-ize or remix certain sci-fi and genre favorites. Take for example, this group of Battlestar Galactica Propaganda posters. By far the most awesome in that scary, disturbing, oh-god-why-are-you-killing-my-childhood kind of way, thing I've found is the series of Sin City posters redone as if they starred Disney Princesses. (And before you say it, no Mulan is not Miho. Because 1) that would be too obvious, 2) Mulan is technically not a princess even though Disney seems to lump her together with them for the sake of promoting ethnic diversity, and 3) Mulan does not need to be revamped to become bad-ass; she already is bad-ass.) Anyway, take a look for yourself after the jump: Disney Princesses Star in Frank Miller's Sin City )

So in conclusion: Remixes can be awesome, but like halo-halo, it sometimes requires an acquired taste.

In other news, the Olympics are coming to an end, much to many people's relief, including the people around me because I readily admit that I'm obsessed with it and can get reaaaaaaally annoying about it. Like, seriously, I never follow any sports, but every 4 years, I become this walking, talking encyclopedia of random factoids on sports ranging from swimming and gymnastics to things like sychronized swimming and handball (which is basically dodgeball on crack). All the same, I wrote a recap for the 2004 Athens Games, and I'm debating writing another one. So what do you think:

[Poll #1247328]

And if my objectivity worries you at all, don't worry. I promise not to rag on other countries as much as the NBC commentators do. Not like they've set the standard very high. I mean, their basic stance is this:

But still. So yeah, let me know.
