So I'm finished mainling S7 (I started around 10pm last night and basically only stopped to eat or shower) and I'm going to be posting my S7 review later tonight, but until then, here's a fun little poll for you guys to fill out as I finish writing it up.

[Poll #1408805]

ETA- If you feel obliged, let me know which questions were the hardest to choose between and why. I'm curious.

Favorite part of the season for me? Jack tucked nicely in bed in his PJ’s asleep. Or comatose, I’ll take what I can get. Maybe getting off on seeing him that way is all kinds of sick and wrong, but it isthe scene I’ve been wanting to see for the entire run of the series.

And the Bauer Shower. Sigh.

I could have lived without Dead!Bill and Zombie!Tony. Other than that, Day 7 is my favorite season.

I should have had a write in Bonus question of which one was your favorite shallow moment. Heehee.

Dead Bill or Dead Larry? Which is worse?

Favorite shallow moment? When Tony is in a towel after his shower.

Hee. I had the most trouble with the best line, and I probably lied just so that every single answer wasn't totally shippy. Oh wait. Even the choice I did make was kinda shippy. *snorffle* Oh well;)

Renee = love:)

Definitely down with Dead!Bill and Zombie!Tony. The more I watch, the more the Tony storyline is the number one thing that chaps my ass this season. And it's not because I hate him. It's because I think the character deserved better.

Haha, well you know I don't judge you for your shippiness, right? Cuz, uh, I'm in no position to do so when S2 and S3 rank so much higher on my list than they should simply because of the T/M moments.

And yes, I agree that the character deserved better.

Hardest one to answer was "Worst Writing Decision." If I could, I would have selected the first three, because every single one is how I would answer.

Yeah, they really killed us with those, didn't they?

I had problems between best theme and best line, as the themes were done SO WELL.

I have a lot less problems with the Tony storyline than other people do. Sad to see Larry go.

I think they handled the Redemption of Jack Bauer theme the best, but my favorite is and will always be the Triangle that Wasn't. 7x08 and 7x16 will always be my favorite 2 episodes of this season.

Good poll!

I had issues picking worst new character, because all of them pretty much sucked. I went with Olivia because she's by far the worst. And all the minor characters were used really well, but I had to go with Red Foreman...I mean, Senator Mayer. ;]

And my favorite line was in the badass Jack section, "Don't do it. You're gonna turn a surveillance job into a firefight. It'll be two against ten." / "Two against nine."
I laughed harder than I ever have in 24 history!

From: [identity profile] dealan311.livejournal.com

Oh you mean That 70's Senator? Awww, good times. The funny thing about it is, even the characters that were wholly unlikeable? I still could appreciate that they performed some sort of function that added to the drama. And I had a hard time coming up with that list, since I really had to think about who I'd put in there- and that's a pretty high compliment to the season.

And YEAH, I loved that little correction. And they say the show has no humor! Hehe.

Some good questions there. I had some trouble deciding on a few...I think best exchange/line was the hardest. I absolutely loved Jack and Renee's final dialogue, I thought it was one of the best scenes in 24 history. But there were also some great one liners that I loved, Like Jack's "ask around" and Renee's "Maybe I will...Tomorrow!" It was a hard choice. If it was split up into one category for exchange and one for one liners, it would have been easier. =D

I also thought one of the great Renee moments was her final scene, putting a gun to Janis, setting down the badge, and the look on her face right before she shuts the door. That was a great scene.

Heehee. Yeah I probably should have split it up, but I'm a big fan of Death is Not an Option. ;)

That's an excellent scene to have as a favorite. Annie definitely nailed that transformation, which was nice.

Worst New Character: Janis Gold

Basically 24 hours of Janeane Garofalao (however it's spelled) trying way too hard to be Mary-Lynn Rajskub, and then when Mary-Lynn shows up you can see just how inferior she is.

Not a good choice. Now if the FBI tech nerd had been another Edgar, that would have been pretty awesome.

This.

I cheered when I saw she wasn't going to be back.

I blame the writers more than the actor for the failure of the character. They didn't give her anything to work with. Part of the reason is that she was supposed to be the mirror of Chloe this year (bad at IQ, good at EQ, where Chloe is good at IQ but bad at EQ)- and Mary Lynn was taken out half way through because of her pregnancy. But even in light of that, they should have given her more. Even Rhys and Ever got the cheating bit along with the mole stuff. And Olivia had spades of stuff. Janis got an inferiority complex and inherited the thankless job of the Greek Chorus/ Jiminy Cricket voice after Mayer, Larry and Bill died.

She really had little to work with, so I can't say it's all Janeane's fault. But there were moments where I wanted to hug her. Particularly whenever Larry was spazzing about Renee and in the one episode where they gave her something to do with John the Chemical Plant guy.

And you know, truth be told, I never really warmed up to Edgar, and the only reason I cared about him was because Chloe did.

But I agree with you that if they can't write a better character, then it's best that she's not coming back.

Thanks! I had fun writing it. It helps me wrap my head around the season by finding out what everyone else thinks.
