Yup. It will be a challenge to make the last half of the season funny, but when things go bad, I get snarky. It's my defense mechanism. This is how I deal, so I thought I'd share. Laughter is the best medicine, right?
You know what's funny is going back to the first recap. I had Senator Mayer tell Jack before he left, "Try not to die or break any laws until then, okay?" and that was waaaaaaaay before 7x15. So I had to giggle at that little bit of unintentional foreshadowing. Jack Bauer never follows the rules!
Pippi Longstocking! Hee. Poor Renee with the red hair and freckles.
"Sing them a Lisa Loeb song?" OMG you kill me. No really you do.
Word to Renee being already signed up for the Jack Bauer School of Badassery. Tee hee. And Tanner all, "That was the weakest Jack Bauer impression I've ever seen." Don't mess with pissed off Renee man. You'll be sorry!
"Totally not listening face #947." *nods head* *giggles remembering idiocy of Renee's solo jaunt to the Matobos*
"Matobos house of rhythm and funk?" Oy where do you come up with this stuff? Fun TIMES.
I'm also dying over, "You realize this ploy is only so Agent Freckles can catch up, right?" Well and also so Jack and Tony can make some really cool stuff that looks like liquid nitrogen.
Yeah and I almost fell out of my chair on the "alohamora" exchange. Summary? You rock. I really can't explain my love for these things in words.
I'm just going to keep listing out famous redheads until I run out.
Janeane was in Reality Bites, right? I think that's why I put that line in.
Aww, it's her first time going solo. It's okay that she freaked out. Oh Renee's fantastic inability to wait for back-up? That's going to be an ongoing theme this year too. I think between that and the zombie/cylong gag, OT3 mentions and the Jack Bauer School of Badassery, I should have plenty to play with.
Ah, that one came from answering the dorm phones in high school. It's a variation of "Pete's Palace of Pleasure, how may I service you?" and "Joe's Crematory, you kill 'em, we grill 'em" and other such nonsense.
And, yeah I had to reference the Harry Potter as soon as Tony said Emerson was British. I don't know why that bugged me so much that Emerson was British but it did. I have to work something in there about Highlander eventually though. I can't NOT, since Peter Wingfield will always be Methos to me.
Janeane was in Reality Bites, right? I think that's why I put that line in.
She was, and she was awesome, and yeah that's one of the reasons that line made me laugh (also because I hate that damn song from Reality Bites -- they abused it to DEATH on the radio when the movie came out). Pft to all the people who didn't like Janis. I think she's the best, even if she did kinda get left all by herself against the Jack/Renee school of thought once Larry and Bill bought the farm. *sighs*
"You say..." aaaand I forget all the rest from there. Sometimes it makes me glad that I didn't really listen to radio back in the day. I still don't actually. DC radio blows.
SIGH. It'll never not hurt, but it'll be okay. Eventually you learn how to live with it.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand that would be the part where I realize that no really, I've seen the hospital hallway scene in 7x10 too many times, because my brain goes instantly there and starts saying, "What if I don't want to learn to live with it?" "Then quit."
*headdeskslem* Yeah I've officially moved past the acceptance part into "Where is season 8?" flail. I'm surprised I lasted two weeks and two days. So happy to have arrived here.
Hahaha, aww Shana, that's the point. You were supposed to think that and then quote Renee back to me so I could quote Jack and then everyone could marvel at our dorkiness! That's how the game is played. ;)
Welcome to the world of the 24 fan. Heehee. At least there's fic to tide us over the hiatus?
OMG!!!! This is hilarious!!! Every cap from start to finish is an EPIC WIN. :D :D
My favorites are Janis's "but people die when they go outside", "they're totally still in bro-mance", Jack's "agent freckles is my potential love interest this season", Renee's "I left and enrolled in the Jack Bauer school of badassery" and Tony's "I helped write season 6. I'm not proud". LOL!
I agree!!! This is the best discovery eveeeer!!! :D :D I'm so glad I'm following Kay on Twitter now, I wouldn't have known otherwise (I'm 247daydream over there by the way).
Well clearly I'm a terrible person in that I'm too scared to add Twitter to my already excessive sources of time suckage, but I totally rely on Kay to hit me up with fun pics or bits of info. I suck. *sigh*
Not a terrible person at all! I've resisted Twitter for as long as I possibly could, for the same reason you mentioned. But then Annie Wersching was being so awesome, I couldn't not follow her! And Twitter is a lot of fun. :)
AHHH I just read all four of these and they are absolutely brilliant!!! "I'm the writers' apology for inflicting Marilyn on the fans last season. I'm also here to fill the void of kickass CTU women that Michelle Dessler left behind. And maybe a love interest." *dies* So true, lmao. Word to Renee being enrolled in the Jack Bauer School of Badassery! I loved "Matobo's House of Rhythm and Funk." XD and the Alohomora/Harry Potter reference = win! Also, I love, love, love Larry getting all upset about Jack getting in the way of him and Renee. XD "Did Jack get you into drugshis pants something dangerous?" was definitely one of my favorite lines. "I'm more partial to the Fortress of Solitude, but Bill and Tony are obsessed with The Dark Knight." HAHAHA I loved that line, too. Thank you so much for posting these up! They are hilarious!
Heeee! The Marilyn line still ranks with one of my favorites (which is extra amusing given that this is my first season. But I'm scared of Rena Sofer from WAY back). Back to my total envy of all of you guys who are discovering these for the first time. I can't wait for 7x05 and the shooting goodness:)
AHHHH I know, I can't wait either! ^^ These are amazing! (Knowing me, I'll probably end up rereading them about 45645361 times until I have them practically memorized, haha.) And yeah, the Marilyn line is great. One of the things that I really liked about Season 7 was that there were a lot of strong/kickass female characters, since a lot of the past season, there were a bunch of really annoying ones...with a few exceptions, of course.
You're more than welcome! The Marilyn line was the first joke I came up with when I sat down to write it, so it has a special place for me. The funny part is, I wrote Hour 1 way back in like February that going back now is kinda strange how it works out to be unintentional foreshadowing. When I sat down to write it, 7x08 was airing so we really didn't know a lot. (It was the reflecting pool scene where I decided I wanted to do a parody wherein "Jack James Deans his way around DC, Renee is totally flirting with Jack, Larry's scared he's losing out her to the bad boy, and Janis is annoyed at having to endure Larry's emo ways.")
I really heart my OT3. The Triangle that Wasn't is still my favorite aspect of S7.
In that case, I'm grateful that the reflecting pool scene was included since it inspired you to create this amazing parody...although I also loved it because it pushed Renee more towards the Jack side of the spectrum of doing things aka moving up in the Jack Bauer School of Badassery. XD

That was way too funny. Loved Chloe's musing on the Bat Cave. She WOULD prefer the Fortress of Solitude.
Are you going to do the whole season?

And yes, Chloe would. :)
