Quick observation about Monday's episode 24:

Part of me can't help but think that Farscape will have handled the "lead just got raped" storyline much better than 24 will. And that was a space opera. With muppets.

More coherent thoughts on this to follow.

I'm presently of the opinion that this season of 24 could really benefit from some muppets:-P Bohemian Rhapsody anyone? Mama? MAMMMAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

*headdeskslam to infinity*

Okay but seriously, you know that when you put up your more coherent thoughts, I will follow suit.

Haha. Well, to be honest, Rygel and Pilot are two of the most full-formed, well-written characters in anything I've read, seen, or heard, and considering the number of books, plays, movies, and television I watch, that is something indeed.

Oh. Dude. Wow. You're totally misreading my comment. That was in no way intended to be any commentary whatsoever on Farscape, which I have not yet watched and which sounds amazing. Not in the least. I'm super sorry if you took it that way. And for god's sake you know I'm not joking about rape.

It was my way of whistling in the dark about the one show I do watch. My apologies.

Haha, and now you're misreading my comment. I'm actually agreeing with you that muppets would improve 24, at least if they're written the way they are on Farscape. They are *that* three-dimensional as characters. Although somehow you'd have to figure out a way to get Pilot out of the ship considering the fact that he's 11 foot puppet that looks...well, like this (http://www.scifi2k.com/farscape/farscape_pilot100.JPG).

So, maybe not. Heehee.

*snorffles* Okay. I'm glad we got that all figured out. Um, I think I really need to watch this show. I even HAVE some of it, thanks to you. You promised me epic ship that doesn't end with me bleeding out on the floor, right? Well. That sounds so lovely right about now...

It's a very polarizing show. You either love it or you hate it. Some people can't get over the puppetry or the gross factor. And it goes into really dark territory. But the epic ship? Oh yeah. It leaves you bleeding on the floor for a little bit, because Aeryn and John die a couple times, but then it fixes itself. Hehe. Gotta love science fiction.

I think 24 would benefit even from regular Muppets right about now. The Hecklers would be awesome in the Presidential storyline. And Miss Piggy and Dana could exchange hair tips.

How far I have fallen.

Farscape will have handled the "lead just got raped" storyline much better than 24 will.

Of course they will. And that was even a male lead, not female -- a story that should be so cliched everyone ought to "get it right."

I have no words for how much I hate what they did to Renee.

Yeah. Farscape was pretty flipping awesome with turning cliches on its head. They even did the triangle right, but I guess that's because only in science fiction can you have a love triangle with two people. Hehehe.

And oh, I have many words. Many, many, many words on the matter.

but I guess that's because only in science fiction can you have a love triangle with two people. Hehehe.

I think Talyn might resent not being called "people." ;-)

Hahah. True. I was actually talking about Aeryn, T'John and M'John though. Especially if you subscribe to the theory that since both Johns technically die at the same time, somehow the two got integrated again by the end S3 (see: M'John's dream echoing T'John's "Never better" in DwtB).

From: [identity profile] evilmissbecky.livejournal.com

I do indeed believe that. Those S4 laka flashes include moments that only TalynJohn saw, and there's no other explanation for it.
