I have more thoughts about it, but my non-spoilery thoughts are that I liked it, even though I definitely need to see it again. Someone told me that I should watch the movie and enjoy it the first time and not try to figure out if there's a twist or not. I agree, because I think that if you enter the movie thinking that there's a twist, one of the most obvious possibilities is that the entire thing is a dream and that extraction is not possible and that no one in the entire movie is real. And if you never fully accept the basic premise of the movie and believe the science fiction of the world, you don't enjoy it as much because it's impossible to connect with the characters. Your mind will keep asking you why bother if the entire 2.5 hours is just one big dream? If you do accept the world and allow yourself to get fully immersed in it though, then it opens up the ending to a lot more interpretations than just it was a dream or it wasn't.

I'm really glad that movies cost $3 here, though, so I can rewatch to my heart's content. I splurged and spent all of $7.50 (P350) for the new IMAX in SM. Totally worth it.

+ Westboro Church tries to take on Comic-con, fails miserably. Comic-con protesters amuse me so much.

+ Man decorates basement with $10 worth of sharpies. This is nothing short of amazing. (And kind of reminds me of that scene in the most recent episode White Collar between Diana and Neal in that hotel room. I'm so glad Diana's back.)

+ Tina Fey and Meryl Streep to do a movie together. Universe unable to contain its joy.

+ Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon creators talk about new mini-series due out in 2011. Fair warning, the interview does give away a couple things, and I won't include the synopsis for the truly spoilerphobic, but dude: "This new avatar is not only a girl, but also hot-headed, independent and ready to take on the world." I already love her. The concept art looks really good and I'm so, so, so excited for this. Mostly because it's exactly what the fandom needs, given the epic fail that was the M. Night version. Oh! And what they have to say about said travesty is pretty awesome too:

Konietzko: We’re just really focused on this new show right now, and kind of taking this off in its own direction and not concerning ourselves with that right now.

So you didn’t follow the casting controversy about the movie version of “The Last Airbender”?

Translation: We're really glad we have nothing to do with that *thing* that bears virtually no resemblance to our baby, so we're just going to ignore it and try to forget that it even exists. Also, we may mock it in our cartoon the way we did in Ember Island Players episode.

I LOVED Inception. There is nothing like a good Mind Frak. I though some of the shots were so beautifully composed, I hope it wins a ton of technical Oscars, even though most of us don't care about technical Oscars.

There are big dumb movies and small smart ones. Inception is a big smart movie, so win.

It really is a big smart movie. I'm slowly finding out that Nolan movies should just be seen on the biggest screens you can find. I can't wait for Batman 3, if only because he wants to shoot the ENTIRE movie in IMAX and absolutely no 3D. (Thank god.)

The hallway fight scene alone should get it a handful of technical Oscars. The editing was really great too, especially at the end with the simultaneous kicks. In the hands of a lesser editor, that could have been one hot mess of confusion.

I can't even imagine Inception being 3D. My head hurt a little just watching it in IMAX, combined with all the thinking I was doing during the movie. Adding a 3rd Dimension definitely would have been too much.

That video kind of made my morning, which is awesome because it's pouring outside, there's no rec, and my kids want to watch New Hope for like the fifth time this week:) hahahahaha. But I'm still all, "ZOMG it's Bryce Larkin!"

Also, yay to more REAL Avatar.

I have to show the kids this video because they love the song. Their bus driver plays it for them all the time.

eta. Oh oh oh! I totally forgot. Because apparently there is nothing she cannot write, lowriseflare wrote White Collar threesome fic because it was one of her alphabet meme prompts and she is down to like four or something. So check it out in her journal if you feel like it. I'm the last person on the earth to enjoy threesome fic, but if I have to read one, I would pick hers six days a week and twice on Sunday.

Yup, Bryce Larkin. He's actually playing Neal Caffrey over at White Collar, which is totally rocking this season because Diana is back and she is a perfect work wife for Peter.

And uh, hehe, not bad per se, but I'm not really into threesome fic. *shrugs* No judgment for people who do; I just can't get over the infidelity thing or wrap my head around the concept of sharing when it comes to that. LOL.

Dude. You're talking to the girl with the monogamy kink the size of twelve universes. So it's not that I'm into threesome fic, believe me. I was only saying that if I had to read it, I would read Katie's. I don't get anything about it, because my mind doesn't work that way.

I dug that movie in such a weird way. I realize it's pretty much bad, but I'm such a fucking sucker for love that transcends time and death and never wavers (see monogamy kink) and it was just sort of funny and epic at the same time. So yeah, I enjoyed it a lot at the same time that I would never claim it was quality, if that makes any sense at all.

a few thoughts:

1. matt bomer does not dance as well as i figured he would (though this may be attributed to the whole dancing-to-a-video-game bit).

2. tim dekay's dancing ability, however, is everything i dreamed of and more. kinda reminds me of nick, if nick had dance lessons.

3. i continue to marvel at the fact that you are able to find all of this amazingness online. yay!

1. I think the video-game-dancing is an important factor. I mean, we do remember the Lambada he danced with Sarah on Chuck, yes?

2. YES. That's so, so true.

3. It's Comic-con week. There is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to this kind of stuff that will be coming out for the next week as people start to roll out with their stuff and show up on panels. Like that JJ Abrams and Joss Whedon panel? Yeaaaaaaaaah.

Btw, because it's relevant to your interests: Nathan Fillion is officially signed on for the Joss Whedon directed Avengers movie. He'll be playing Ant Man. So that means, at this point in time we now have Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, and probably Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk.
