I need to stop watching 24 with family members. They make me feel stupid for talking to the TV and getting excited about a show and make me generally feel like crap to the point that I can't enjoy it. I don't mind taking the piss out of the show's more questionable plotlines, but the difference is, I actually like the show. It doesn't have to make sense, I just like the rush, and my enjoyment of tonight's episode was completely ruined by people harshing my squee/making me feel stupid when spoiler for tonight's episode )

Which sucks because I actually do have a lot to say about this episode. I'm going to have to do another rewatch when I'm not completely irritated.

On a random note, I noticed Renee was wearing her earrings tonight. Was she always wearing them?

ETA- Oh and that's another thing. Castle, while a funny show, isn't any more believable than 24. Because the point of it is to watch Nathan Fillion do what he does best- be charmingly rougish and handsome. Just like the point of 24 is to watch how the characters react to extreme situations. The plot? Is always superfluous. That's just the way it is. (I need an "I watch for the plot" icon, like whoa.)

So Dad's back. I'm no longer living on my own, which means that the house won't be as clean as it is right now. And it no longer means sleeping whenever the hell I want or coming and going whenever I want without comment, but hey, at least there's someone else to talk to in the house. Funny thing is, I pretty much slept through the weekend because I was feeling sick all the way through Thursday night. I'm better now, but it kinda threw my sleeping patterns, as Dad has severe jetlag, and we are almost on the same sleep schedule. Whoops?

Ah well. Anyway, happy belated Bday to Ya Din and Paulette! I kinda find it amusing that I slept through Valentine's day and didn't do my ritual of watching When Harry Met Sally, but then again, there's no Steph on the phone to lovingly mock it with, so I suppose it's just as well.

In other news, I'm glad people liked the 24 parody. Since there was such a positive response, I'll go ahead and keep doing them, but I need to know 2 things first:

And finally: thoughts on 4:00pm-5:00pm )

Random thought: on Brothers and Sisters, Jon Glover, the Magnificent Bastard over on Smallville, is playing the boyfriend of Saul, played by Ron Rifkin, the Magnificent Bastard over on Alias. This? Amuses me to no end.

In Pride and Prejudice news: Pride & Prejudice: the Zombie Movie Version? Apparently someone got a parody published and now they're thinking of making it into a film:

"It quickly became obvious that Jane (Austen) had laid down the blueprint for a zombie novel," author Seth Grahame-Smith told Australia’s Herald Sun. ”Why else in the original should a regiment arrive on Lizzie Bennet's doorstep when they should have been off fighting Napoleon? It was to protect the family from an invasion of brain-eaters, obviously."

YOU GUYS. I can't even...You know, I thought it was a joke at first, but it's listed on Amazon and the movie reports are popping up in legitimate sources. It's like I can't decide if I want to cry or laugh, this is so ridiculous.

Marvel comes out with a Pride and Prejudice comic.

Also? Annie Wersching (Renee Walker on 24) has gotta be one of the cutest fangirls of 24 ever. Apparently while she was filming scenes with Mary-lynn and Carlos, she would internally freak out about how she was "talking to Chloe and Tony." Also, she flew back to her hometown and hired out a local theater for all her friends and family to watch the premiere of 24. She even got a bunch of the cast and crew to say hello wherein you can see her acting like a kid in a candy store (one cast spoiler in that video, btw. It's out there in the media already, but just fair warning for the spoiler phobes.)

Anyway, I find Wersching's fangirl ways somewhat hilarious and totally endearing, which is great because it's nice that my favorite new character on 24 isn't played by a total jerk. Not that the cast of 24 isn't awesome, but it can happen. And I really like Renee's character. I can't figure out why just yet, but I do. Maybe it's because she's like the female counterpart to S1!Jack. Or maybe she's more like S1!Tony. I don't know, what do you think?
