Someone got a copy of the Blu-Ray S7 DVD and therefore has seen the 24 finale in its entirety.

I was going to put up a nice little poll and call out my predictions, but seeing as how people are going into premature flail mode and that spoilers!are!everywhere! I'm going into Internet lockdown starting RIGHT NOW.

For the record I think Tony will survive and be more like Nina (live to be killed by Jack another day) than Saunders (killed by grieving wife/past lover). And I'm hoping Kim is useful, in keeping with the so-far pretty awesome version she's been today. And if I can get some Team Awesome moments, with Renee saving Jack and riding in like a knight in shining FBI armor on her white steed black SUV? So much the better.

BRING IT ON, 24. (And if you can give me this, that works too.)

Before I launch into 24 talk- MAD girls, Ms Bush is retiring. If you want to give her messages, email the alumni people as they are compiling comments and whatnot to give her. She's awesome and totally deserves it, so even though the radio silence between me and MAD goes on from here to eternity on a normal basis, I still emailed some stuff in.

*

I'm like thisclose to going into Internet lockdown because I don't want to get spoiled for 24's finale on Monday. It's like they're everywhere since the S7 Finale and DVD party. (Which you should all check out the pictures of because they're so VERY cute). But seriously. Spoilers!Everywhere! And it's taking all my willpower not to click on people's LJs and links. Must.be.strong.

Of course that won't stop me from entertaining speculations about how it's all gonna end, especially with Tony. More finale speculation )

I can't believe I of all people am saying this, but people in the media and Capitol Hill?

Can you please stop talking about Jack Bauer as if he's a real person and the stuff he does is remotely real?

Like, I know in my write-ups, I talk about the character's actions and motivations as though he's real person, but that's because I'm evaluating the validity and plausibility of his actions in the context of selling the story. I'm always aware that this is a fictional character, which, I'm not sure you are. Because you talk about torture and invoke his name in articles that have nothing to do with entertainment and everything to do with real situations.

May I remind you that in the world of 24, a) they've gone through 7 presidents in 14 years; b) there have been multiple attacks in LA including a nuclear bomb going off; c) Jack Bauer has died twice; d) no one eats, sleeps, or goes to the bathroom; and e) most unbelievable of all, there is no traffic in LA or DC? It's fiction and the whole point of the show is the same as any show: to entertain. Jack Bauer is James Bond meets Die Hard.

He.Isn't.Real.

And bringing him into a conversation where we are talking about REAL travesties and the real crisis we have over how to administer justice and defend ourselves without becoming the very thing we are fighting doesn't help your argument. It's insulting and it cheapens the real problems that real people are struggling with.

You might want to focus more on THAT instead bringing in a fictional character and evaluating his methods next time, just sayin'.

Sincerely,
The Management.

Media alert: Elisha Cuthbert to be on Letterman tonight. Also look out for her on Jimmy Kimmel Live on 4/23, and Janeane Garofolo on Jimmy Fallon on 4/22. Maybe we'll get more about the crazy twists, but just a heads up so you can adjust your DVRs accordingly.

In other 24 news:Spoilers for 7x18 and explanation of this post's title )

It's been a couple days and I'm still not over the Tony thing, but I think I've reached a temporary zen. More thoughts )

Yes I had to throw a Firefly reference in there. I needed to because, man, Monday nights are going to be the death of me. Both my shows had game-changing eps, but given the differences in their genre, the wild rides couldn't be more different.

Chuck vs the First Kill: OH MY GOD, SARAH, ILU. )

And on the other side of the coin, 24: 1:00am-2:00am )
